Cherries, Ice creams and Bunting

Friday 9th December 2011. What a stunning, stunning day. This wedding for me felt like “going home”…it was a new and almost odd feeling but one that I absolutely enjoyed.

Jo (a bridesmaid) had her newborn images taken with me only months before and we also went to school together so I knew them well (her daughter is the stunning flower girl). And the beautiful Deonie and I had emails and meeting that were all filled with laughter and fun. I felt so at ease with the whole bridal party. They were fantastic!

The weather was looking great and we enjoyed a stunning location for the vows to be shared. From there perfectly chosen locations were visited and together we made some of my all time favourite images. As a couple Colin and Deonie are fun, romantic and gorgeous. What a beautiful afternoon it really was. You can see for yourself I guess:

Ryan and Marissa – Nielsen’s Beach

Ryan and Marissa have actually know each other since (I believe) they were born. They grew up together as their Mothers are still good friends. So this wedding was the official joining of two families who already were very close. It was like attending one big celebration. Everyone was so happy and excited for Marissa and Ryan as they said “I do” at the beach.

The bridal party were wonderful and a delight to spend time with – you have to agree they looked amazing too – and they made the photograph taking easy and joyful.

Ryan and Marissa are very fortunate to belong to strong families who are all very supportive and generous. I know with these people behind them and the beautiful relationship they have they are looking forward to a very long and harmonious marriage together. Congratulations!!

Tabitha and Peter – Hervey Bay

Tabitha and Peter were married in Hervey Bay on a beautiful afternoon by the beach. Even though it was windy and rain threatened us we were able to stay dry and also get some stunning images on the day.

A naturally sweet, kind and connected couple they were supported by a fun and easy going wedding party. It was a fantastic wedding and together the excitement was building.

To share a wedding day with a couple like Tabitha and Peter is nothing short of a privilege. Thank you to everyone at this wedding for being who you are!

Nick and Sarah

Nick and Sarah were married in September and it was a beautiful, beautiful ceremony. The couple – together with their way too cute little people – were obviously so excited to start the new phase of their family lives.
Their ceremony held at Fairymead house was right when the sun shone through and it was just stunning. As we left for our location images the clouds built up yet we managed to out race them without getting wet at all.

Nick and Sarah were surrounded by supportive friends and family and to be able to see and be part of that was an honour. Thank you both!

Brooke and Elliott

Brooke and Elliott picked an amazing day to have their wedding. It was all seasons in one and not one of them interrupted their plans (well not really).

The weather certainly is something there is no control over what-so-ever but also something that can completely change the look of an image. Overcast weather means you don’t have to compete with harsh, unflattering sun. Large clouds mean an interesting sky. Warm sun means beautiful warm colours over the grass at sunset.

Waking up Saturday morning the town was met with grey skies and threatening clouds. Then all of a sudden the sky went completely black and the wind blew like crazy. A storm hit and it was heavy and gloomy. I arrived at the location of the bridal party and as I did the weather started to break and the clouds passed on.

Brooke and Elliott chose to have their photographs taken before they exchanged their vows as so many of their guests had travelled to be part of their day. This allowed them to spend time with them and also enjoy a relaxing afternoon. It was exciting and fun to do things differently.

Congratulations to you both – I know you will be very happy for ever more.
