Their family is my family…my family is theirs too!

So I find myself having to explain to clients “if you think you see me and I am not reacting please do not think I am rude. I have an identical twin sister”. My sister is Sandra (yes Mum called us matching “S” names) and we are very much alike. I love her to bits and we have a very special and close bond.

Sandra and Daniel have three of the most precious and sweet little people. Being their Aunty is one of my favourite roles in life! I adore these guys so much and love being part of their life.

For Christmas 2011 we decided that our gifts to each other had to be either 1. recycled 2. handmade or 3. practical. So I decided that for the first time ever I wanted to do an entire session for Sandra’s family. They were 100% clients (and great ones too). We discussed what to wear, a location was agreed upon and we went out to shoot. It was funny to be a photographer only and not the Aunty with the camera :) I had a brilliant time, and as you can see the images were well worth the effort:

Big Smiles and Bigger Hearts

A humid summers afternoon and we all headed off to one of my “farm sheds” for some lovely family photographs. Two stunning “big girls” with two cute as can be “little boys” meant it was fun and adventurous.

Jim and Kelly are a sweet couple – and very much family orientated. These people are their world and they wanted photographs together to  remember this great time together before the little people are grown up people!

As you can see they were such a beautiful family.

Connections

When I heard from Sue that she wanted her family photographed before Christmas I was really excited. I photograph a lot of little people – babies and toddlers as you know – but this time I was photographing teenagers. I was really looking forward to seeing where this session would take us all.

We met (once the rain held off for long enough) at the beach and decided we loved the dramatic look of the rocks and clouds that presented us. It was such a wonderful afternoon.

You have to agree that together Rod and Sue have two beautiful, mature and talented children.

Lipgloss Please

Aren’t little people so funny? I always find myself laughing at them on sessions. The thing they do/say/feel are so cute and so relevant to their young ages.

This little man was really into his Mums lip gloss – infact you try at take it off him and he would let you know how important it was to him. So funny for me to witness.

You have to agree they are such a spunky family?

Cuteness now comes in the colour “fluff”

A very windy afternoon saw me meet up with this family. The kids were wonderful and enjoyed having their photographs taken. I love it when little people share their photographic ideas and poses – it helps them feel part of the session.

The wind was crazy but we worked with it and decided to let it make the photographs rather then take over them. Together Leon and Kellie have beautiful children who you agree are super cute too!

As we were about to call the session to an end we decided that the newest family member best make a grand appearance. Luckily Leon ran home and bought back the most beautiful colour of fluff :)
