A very windy afternoon saw me meet up with this family. The kids were wonderful and enjoyed having their photographs taken. I love it when little people share their photographic ideas and poses – it helps them feel part of the session.

The wind was crazy but we worked with it and decided to let it make the photographs rather then take over them. Together Leon and Kellie have beautiful children who you agree are super cute too!

As we were about to call the session to an end we decided that the newest family member best make a grand appearance. Luckily Leon ran home and bought back the most beautiful colour of fluff

The Best Accessory By Far!

Michelle loves accessories, she had so many for her new precious daughter I was impressed. But you will all agree that the most amazing and special accessory she has is her stunning family.

When I heard that Ray and Michelle had 2 older children and a new baby as well my mind went into overdrive. For some time I have been wanting this exact family dynamic to do some different and sweet images with.

All of the children were peaceful and obliging so it made the photo shoot so relaxing and peaceful. Although babies (of course) don’t like to be too shuffled around we didn’t have too many issues there really. A lovely drink of milk and all was well with the world again.

Energetic and Adventurous

When Katherine came for a consultation regarding her family session she let me know that as a family they are go, go and GO! I thought “well this is great” as I love energetic little people who are fun to follow as they explore.

On a lovely summers afternoon the family sure didn’t disappoint as we went to the beach, the tree (where little “owls” hang out!), the grassy patch (searching for toads), their lovely backyard garden (where there was sand, dirt, trucks, water and so many, many laughs). I literally went home smiling and tired.

I wanted to make a point that only the main “all in including the dog” family image was directed, the rest happened as this lovely connected family went about their normal afternoon. The last two images just remind me of Australia and our summers.

Sun drenched Paddock

As I drove out to Kate and Joe’s property my excitement built. It was a road I had never driven down before and it was a stunning location. The sun was starting to soften and the light was turning into magic.

I pulled up and some very excited puppies greeted me, followed shortly by this gorgeous family you see below. Lachlan was energetic and full of expression and fun, just how I love to see little people behave. Their character shows through and makes for some fun, natural shots.

An afternoon playing at the beach

I don’t meet people and take photographs. We talk about where to meet, why to meet there and what to do. These little men were very energetic and loved being at the beach. They bought a soccer ball to play with as at this point this is what they do. We need to remember these stages as they do pass much too quickly.

Linnae (Mum) gets family portraits taken regulary and I know the boys will be so thankful to see themselves growing up in these images. Beautiful!!

The Grass Was Enticing.

I had a wonderful afternoon a few weeks ago photographing this gorgeous little family. Although it was a tad windy this afternoon we found a patch out of the wind for little K to sit in – here was where her obsession of the grass/weeds was found. The expression on her face made us all giggle as she tried her hardest to reach the grassed area and attempt to eat some of it.
Little peoples expressions are priceless and so innocent. This is such a beautiful age to photograph too. Thank you lovely guys.

Hold onto your Teddies!

My home town – Bundaberg – is usually nicknamed “Windyberg” and let me tell you last month it lived up to it’s name. We weren’t going to let that stop us from having fun at the beach and photographing this gorgeous family though!

These two little girls were so adorable and hugged their special teddies in tight – probably afraid that they might blow away in the gusting gale.

It always is a pleasure to photograph families who are really connected and want to freeze that memory into a photograph. Children grow much too quickly don’t they?

It all ended with some kisses – for me!

Sunday afternoon we met at an amazing location that really is a minefield of photographic spots. I could go there for years I think and never use all the places.

I was met with a stunning family, dressed perfectly for some timeless and special family portraits.

We had great afternoon exploring, laughing and trying to avoid cow poo that made poor Ethan squirm. Scott and Kim are a beautiful couple with kids to match, this was a family session I had thought about for months leading up to the date. And I have to say it all ended how I wanted – beautiful!

As we said goodbye I was fortunate enough to even score some kisses from the kids – sigh!

If I had bigger pockets….

If my pockets were bigger I would have taken these two adorable little people home! We had a wonderful winters afternoon in a long paddock on warm, long grass. It was just glorious.

Sam and Nick are getting married in August (oh, that’s THIS month now!!!) and we took some family shots to help the kids get use to me and my huge camera. Well, they didn’t take long. They were just amazing and so very, very, very cute!! I had to stop myself
from saying that over and over again actually. But look at them – CUTE!!!!

Sam is just stunning and is vintage without even trying – as you can see the kids have their wonderful colouring too…so very fortunate.

The coldest day in June for over 100 years and we didn’t care

When I met with this sweet family on Friday afternoon we knew it was going to be cold. The cold snap had arrived and they were rugged up and ready to brave the conditions. It really amazes me how little people don’t care too much if it’s cold. A beach visit is fun at any time of the year. No one complained once, and they were so much fun to photograph.

Sonia and Dale certainly are gold star award winners when it comes to their family genes. Look at how adorable their children are, I mean seriously! The girls are like little dolls and they have one spunky big brother too.

Guys you were so wonderful at your session and I am very happy we decided to keep our Friday appointment, it was just great.
