Lipgloss Please

Aren’t little people so funny? I always find myself laughing at them on sessions. The thing they do/say/feel are so cute and so relevant to their young ages.

This little man was really into his Mums lip gloss – infact you try at take it off him and he would let you know how important it was to him. So funny for me to witness.

You have to agree they are such a spunky family?

The Gorgeous Dancer

Amanda decided to have a For Her  session last year and I was really looking forward to seeing where we ended up. She is a beautiful dancer and has such a grace about her.

The lovely Selina came and pampered Amanda with some stunning make up and lovely hair. We were watching the weather outside with interest as dark clouds rolled in.

Next thing it started raining, as in pouring and it was time to head out to do our session. It was dark and the light was a challenge. But together us girls made this work in our favour. As you can see Amanda was amazing and willing to do anything (sitting in the creek even), this rain ended up making the session.

Thank you Amanda, you were so wonderful and beautiful.

Adam and Michelle

The last wedding for 2011 was that of Adam and Michelle’s. Both teachers meant it was the perfect time for them as they could then enjoy a nice break together after the wedding.

As Michelle and her gorgeous sisters were getting ready a huge storm rolled over and meant that the ceremony was moved to under Fairymead House. You have to agree it looks stunning still. By the end of the ceremony the rain had passed and we were off for some great location shots.

Together with supportive and caring family I know that Michelle and Adam are going to have a beautiful, fun and adventurous marriage.

I love little ones.

As Each Day Passes

When I met first time parents in the studio I am compelled to “warn” them of how fast their tiny baby is going to grow. Just as my Father tried to warn me when our first daughter was born.

A favourite and most special thing about photographs for me personally is that the further away from that particular moment you get the more the image “grows” in power. You see a simple snap shot a few years later and relive that day, that moment. You are shocked at how much your little people have grown. You remember where you were and what happened. Oh I do love doing that!! Even simple “iPhone” images allow this feeling to flow back. Priceless!

I have over a the past few years taken images of my girls on their summer holidays as I LOVE summer, swimming and that special time with friends and family. This year I decided to do the entire school holidays and to not put technical pressure on myself….simply remembering the above and how over time these images are going to become more and more powerful.

Here is a simple slideshow of what was a beautiful summer for us.
