Projected image of the Year

Saturday night was the break up dinner for the Bundaberg Photographic Group (BPG) Each year we get together and see what images are going to be the winners of the year. As I have been so very busy (said with a happy voice) I haven’t been for a while. Work had to come first. If you are in the local Bundaberg Region and like photography you really should try and come one Monday evening!

I made it to the dinner (Thai Tulips – a fave of mine!), and had a great time out. I also received first place for this image:

I have been getting some great news from clients who have been anxiously waiting the births of their babies. So be sure to check in for lots of precious, new little people!
And a final announcement: I am now fully booked until 2010. Please let me know if you are wanting a session before Feb 2010 as I only have limited spaces. Christmas and school holidays are just around the corner! Lots to do before then, but all wonderful things! Take care x

Peaceful, fun-filled times

This afternoon at the beach was glorious. The sun was warm, the breeze was cooling everything down and the atmosphere was good old plain relaxing! We have so many, many beaches around here, I hadn’t really seen the beauty at this beach until today. This family are big rock climbers and rock pool explorers, so the rocks were a great place to start our session.
You know what I love about taking photographs? You really do share a moment with the subject. Each time I look at anyimage I have ever taken it is like I go back to that moment. That feeling, that moment and that experience. A client recently said to me that having a session was quite intimate and personal, and he was surprised. It is true, I get to follow your family, see how you interact and catch this all through my lens. Oh I love this job!
Watching this family today was really sweet. B is a really caring, fun and enthusiastic Mum, and the kids really were connected to her and they had fun together. How great!! Fun at the beach on a lazy Sunday afternoon – beautiful! Here are a few images to share with you all:

Baby boom!!

Ok, what is going on? There is a boom happening as I am photographing many beautiful bumps of late! And I am super excited as followed by the bumps is a more beautiful little person. Something to celebrate and rejoice in don’t you think?
To have a baby is something that is a miracle, and something that I love to be part of. Your little baby is only tiny, squashy and fluffy for a few very short weeks!! So getting beautiful images at this time is such an awesome idea.

Just like a princess

Yesterday S had her formal/prom. And today we had the opportunity to get her dressed up once again to take some images. Why do I do it this way? For time and less stress reasons. I like being able to take photographs at the best time of day (last hour before sunset), and I also like to not have a young girl so anxious and emotional about her formal night that her images don’t look relaxed. T (aka Mum) thought this sounded like a great plan as we could go to the beach and also get grandparents involved in the shoot. It was a wonderful afternoon. S looked just like a princess in her amazing gown – it was such a pretty colour!

S is one loved and supported girl. She was cheered on by Mum, Dad, brother, boyfriend and 2 grandmothers. All very sweet!

She picked them

This afternoon after a nice, warm day it was beautiful at the beach. The breeze was blowing and the water was so inviting to look at. I went to the beach to photograph J, J and their puppy J :) It was a great way to end the day, and a lot of fun. J (the puppy) has some very individual games that’s for sure! And goodness me that dog can jump small buildings I swear!
Here is a sneak peak, being a recent dog owner for the first time I understand how a puppy is part of the family and it is a great idea to include them in your shoot!
