Last week we had our very first trip overseas. We decided to introduce the family to travel in a very low-key and easy way. We spend 7 nights on a cruise ship! We got to enjoy the ship, the activities and best of all the islands. We stopped at Nomea, Lifou and Vanuatu. It really was a wonderful time away and we all really enjoyed ourselves.
As we had 3 major stop overs, I thought I would break my entries up. I don’t normally share holiday pics like this, but I want this to be part of my journal (blog) and to show what we got to experience. And also – hello travel bug!! I am wanting to do more and more asap as I am so willing to see the world!
To remember the holiday G and M had scrapbooks to write in each day, and to paste in any items/brochures etc to help them remember what they did. G took it very seriously, and wrote in her scrapbook each night. M is still catching up

Our first port to visit was Noumea, in New Caledonia. This is a very french influenced city, and although the people weren’t friendly it was still a great place to experience. At night unfortunately it wasn’t too safe, so we came back on board earlier. The buildings were very beautiful, and we had fun saying “merci” to anyone we could!

The light was just shining through on the lighthouse at the top of the hill; it really was stunning!

The girls very much looking like excited tourists here:

My little french girl G (who by the way got the cutest little red polka dot knickers here!):

Some of the amazing churches and buildings:

A photograph by Don – and I am in it!!! See I did go ![]()

And the greatest marketing people in the world I would have to say. To see Coke signs in all stops is amazing, and to see how they are different to what we are use to – targeting their market after all!!
