When a Mum contacts me to let me know that she wants newborn photographs taken once the baby is born it is so important to answer “when to do the shoot?”. A lot of parents are surprised at how young and soon I like to photograph their babies. Of course, this depends on what it is the family are after in the way of shots. But newborn babies between 7-10 days are in that ‘zombie’ age. That age where they settle back to sleep easily (fingers crossed!); don’t seem to have as much hormonal rashes and they still curl a lot like how they were in the womb.
